It's not often that you find contemporary styled furniture in bright colors, and lets face it, I'M DIGGING IT. Everything about this foyer & dining area is perfection. Old Spanish charm with classic white walls, rich dyed ethnic rugs and multi-colored leather dining chairs? Amazing.

Recipe Art

Now that you have all of your best recipes out for your holiday feasts, let me get in this extra simple and extremely sweet DIY

image via tattered style

These framed recipes are such a great way to add a little character to your kitchen, and the best thing is that you don't even have to be craftsy to do this DIY. Adding ribbon to the frames for hanging adds an extra touch.

Last Minute Treats

Although you may be knees deep in wrapping paper & your car might be loaded up with presents...

chances are you will be waking up the day before Christmas Eve by the sudden realization that you have forgotten to get a present for that co-worker or overly friendly neighbor who always seems to manage to give you a holiday present, leaving you mortified that you didn't get them a thing. Oops. Isn't that always the case?

Chances also are that you shopped until you dropped the past week and you promised yourself that you would never be going back to the mall EVER again (well, at least until after the New Year). Luckily for you, I have a few sweet treat ideas that you can whip up in your kitchen to give out as lovely and delicious holiday gifts for anyone and everyone.

First up:
Candy Cane and Eggnog Macarons, anyone?

find the recipe here

Next:
Salted Caramel Sauce

Perfect for dipping apples or pouring on sundaes

Last but not least:
Thin Mints

Before & After

Check out this amazing before and after I found over on design sponge.

Ahhh, I love a little before and after inspiration to remind me that something horribly ugly can usually always be turned into something amazingly pretty with a little work.

DIY chalkboard tray

I have an easy DIY project to share that will leave you running to Michael's to grab some last minute supplies before the holidays this weekend.

I love this because I am one of those annoying picky eaters and hate eating anything when I don't know exactly what it is or what is in it. This chalkboard plate would definitely solve the trick.

Don't you need one for the holidays to show off all of all of your fancy appetizers and treats? Head over to whit and whistle to see a step by step on how to create your own or click here.

Electric Feel

The word neon may scare some people, but it's never frightened me.

I'm feeling the electric pop it adds to a room, outfit or any accessory.
Just a touch will do.

The Classic Ice Bucket with a Twist

Ice buckets for outdoor parties are so last year.

How cool is this recessed ice bucket added to this picnic table? It would be perfect for summer BBQ's. Just add your favorite beers or bottles of wine and wah-la! It will be the talk of the town, no decor necessary.

It actually looks fairly simple to tackle as well by cutting out a hole in the center of the table and attaching a bucket underneath.

Put it on your to-do list, people!

Good Morning!

I can't say that it has been easy for me to get out of bed this past week. The mornings have just been so cold that you would think there was some sort of blizzard going on outside! The only thing that is motivating me right now is knowing that this is my last week of work before the holidays (wah-hoo!).

So, out of bed and off to work I have gone. I am just thankful that my temporary bed of the moment doesn't look nearly as cozy as any of the next few bedrooms I will be showing you. Then I would be having some serious issues because...

I WOULD NEVER LEAVE!

Finger Painting

TGIF.

It's my last weekend living in San Francisco, so I'll be busy enjoying my last few days of city life.

But I'm leaving you with some awesome DIY inspiration to tackle over the weekend or get your creative juices flowin'.

And you'll never believe what it is (unless you read the title of this post)....

FINGER PAINTING! (The Grown-Up, Pretty version)

Take a look for yourself.

Who would have known finger painting could be so artsy?

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Getting Geometric

Even though geometry was one of my least favorite subjects in high school, I'm feeling drawn ( haha, get it?) to the geometric trend.

Christmas Color

The real Christmas dilemma:
How do you decorate for Christmas?

Is it with the traditional mix of green & red? An elegant silver & gold? Or do you like to live colorfully with a mix of it all?

Me? You know I love color.

Here is my ultimate Christmas decor inspiration found over on design darling

Pretty bow ornaments and mini faux presents in an assortment of colors over the most gorgeous fireplace known to man?

I think yes.

Rhode Island Factory turned Home

If I were buying a downtown apartment, all I would ask for would be one single exposed brick wall. So when I came across this Rhode Island factory that was turned into a cozy apartment and is ENTIRELY covered with brick walls, I was a little more than excited to share it with you guys.

The interiors could use a little bit of work in my opinion, but I like how the couple kept the urban feel, yet still made it feel cozy by not going modern overboard. Sigh... I wish this was my apartment. You know I would go design crazy in there!
