Fur Fabulous

Why does fur make everything so much more luxurious? Whether it's the real deal or a great faux, one touch to those cozy fibers and I am in heaven. Of course fur rugs and throws have been around for centuries due to their amazing abilities to keep us warm and snug during those hard to bear winter nights. How could you not love the joy of sitting beside the fire on a freezing day, wrapped up in your favorite fuzzy blanket with a hot cup of tea? There is no questioning the need for some beautiful fur accessories in your home.

So when I started seeing a new fur trend popping up around the blogging world, I went into ultimate obsess mode and collecting inspiration pictures of my new design crush, just like any good design blogger would do. This trend, my loves, is the fur on dining chairs trend.

What do you think about fur throws on dining chairs? Are you loving the trend as much as I do?

American Horror Story Home

"American Horror Story" on FX has easily made it's way to the top of my favorite show list lately with its creepy plot, twists and turns and AMAZING set that takes place in a haunted house which happens to be a real-life LA mansion.

The haunted home back in the "1970s" when it was "abandoned".

While I was searching online for some pictures of the set to share with you guys, I found just what I needed over on one of my favorite sites, Hooked on Houses, that features pictures of many Hollywood homes. Before doing some research, I thought that the television series set might be just that, but I was pleased to find out that not only is it a real-life home, but there were pictures to share with you guys! Most of the show is actually filmed in the house, but a few rooms were changed in order to create different effects.

The home in real-life.

The brick Victorian home was built on 1908 on an LA Country Club park. It's a 3-story that contains 6 bedrooms, 5 baths, immense woodworking, stained glass windows and has over 10,000 square feet!

The kitchen in this show is to die for, unfortunately it is one of the few rooms that is changed in the television series and shot on set. I love the look of the checkerboard floors, dark cabinets, marble countertops and industrial appliances.

DIY Hand Painted Mug

Although it's almost at an end, happy Friday everyone!

Now that the weekend is upon us, I know some of you are going to need your DIY fix and you know I've got a great one for you. I found this cute DIY hand painted mug over on Wit & Whistle, and it's easy as can be.

All you need is:

-A solid colored mug
-Porcelein Paint
-An oven!

I can just imagine this mug becoming my go-to, favorite morning coffee mug. For detailed steps on how to create your own, click here.

Chevron Drawer Liners

Attention to the Clean Freaks and Organize Obsessed: This post is for you!

Don't worry, I'm not poking fun. I'm in the club too, and I've found an awesome item for us over on Hammocks & High Tea. Of course we all love our kitchen and bathroom drawers lined to keep them fresh and clean, but how much more fun are drawer liners when they are gold and chevron striped?

Not only are these liners fun and functional, but they are also scented! Can you believe it? The pretty recycled paper comes in a jasmine and bitter orange scent, and is $25 for 6 sheets. So if you're looking for the perfect Christmas gift for a neat pal, or just an early gift to yourself, add this hot item to your list.

Holiday Wishlist

All of this Christmas shopping I have been doing has got me thinking what would be on my wishlist this season. Here are a few items that I can't seem to get out of my head:

1. Glitter Clutch from TopShop / 2. Design Sponge at Home from Amazon / 3. Ray Bans from Sunglass Hut / 4. Knit Throw from West Elm / 5. Leopard Flats from Asos / 6. Butter Nail Polish from Sephora / 7. Gold Glassware from ZGallerie / 8. Michael Kors Watch from Lord and Taylor / 9. Tarte Lip Stain Set from Sephora

DIY Decorative Tray

I don't know how Martha Stewart does it, but homegirl is always coming up with great DIY ideas. Take this cute chevron striped decorative tray she made out of some decorative fabric and a cookie sheet.

How awesome would this be for a coffee table center piece? And the great part is, you can add your own flare by customizing yours with your favorite fabric, and of course, everyone has an extra cookie sheet lying around! I mean come on, how many cookies do you really need to make? (Just kidding, there is no such thing as TOO MANY cookies.)
