Floating Wall Shelves

I'm currently loving floating wall shelves, like these ones displayed in Camille Styles home from the lifestyle blog, Camille Styles.

The shelves gives the walls a contemporary feel and also add some extra storage. If that's not good enough for you, they are dirt cheap! You can find similar shelves over at IKEA here for about $7 each.

I'm Baaaaack

Hi loves!

I've been completely out of touch with the blogging world for the past 5 days and let me tell you, I've missed you tons! I'm already missing my AMAZING New York vay-cay, but it's always nice to be back home.

New York City was everything I had imagined it to be and more! (Thanks again to my lovely boyfriend for taking me on such an awesome trip.) The weather was beyond freezing, but it was worth every single layer I was bundled up in (and there were a lot of them) because I felt that I got to experience a true NYC winter. There was snow and everything!

But it was so cold that it was almost painful to take pictures because that meant I had to peel off my layers of gloves that I was wearing. However, I did get to snap some shots at a few of my most favorite places we visited.

The State of Liberty, herself.

French macaroons & lattes in the Financial District

Times Square (We saw Mama Mia!)

Central Park Exploring

Ground Zero (new towers being built)

Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate and Frozen Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

The Empire State Building, 86 floors up. Way too tall for me.

Manhattan from the bay.

Can I go back now, please?

Soon, we shall meet again. Until then, I'll be back here, blogging away!

NYC bound!

This will be my view in a few hours...

Yes, that's right. I'm a few thousand feet up in the air right now (and pretty freaked out, I might add, as I am a scaredy-cat when it comes to flying!) But I'm feeling pretty darn excited none the less because I am on my way to New York City, FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!, with the boyfran.

I'll be away until Wednesday so I am apologizing in advance for my lack of posting that will be going on for the next 5 days. Hope you all understand, but a girl needs an awesome vacation every once and a while!

Don't you fret though, pretties. I will be taking TONS of pictures of all of the beautiful moments I will be encountering along the way to share with you all.

On the itenerary:
Central park, empire state building, serendipity deliciousness, ground zero, Ralph Lauren mansion boutique, times square, good food & of course a little shopping. ;)

See you all in a few days!

Ps- if you would like to follow my trip on instagram, I finally started one

DIY Nail head Side Table

Nail heads on upholstered furniture is a now a thing of the past (though we still love it!) now that I've come across this awesome DIY I found over on Little Green Notebook.

Isn't it amazing?

Check out the before picture... it's pretty bad.

And yes! It is the same piece of furniture. Craziness, I know. Some people have just got the DIY gift.

But luckily for us, now we know that after adding a little paint, new hardware & nail heads to an outdated wooden side table, you can give yourself a new favorite piece of furniture! And we definitely love that!

House Stalking: Naomi Stein's Pad

Don't you just love house tours?

It's fun finding random inspiration, but eve better when you find an entire home with different rooms filled with inspiration. That way you can get the entire feel instead of just a teasing sneak peak.

Take a look at Naomi Stein's bright & eclectic pad I found over on design sponge.

Don't you love all of those bold color choices?
